A Crucible of Souls - 2013 Aurealis Awards finalist!

I’m stunned, incredibly humbled, and very pleased to announce that A Crucible of Souls is one of the 2013 Aurealis Awards finalists! http://www.aurealisawards.com/

President of Conflux Inc. (2013 Aurealis Awards organisers), Nicole Murphy, congratulated all the finalists: “To be judged as producing one of the stand out works of 2013 is something that all finalists can be immensely proud of. Their works will now be known as among the best produced by an Australian and that’s a remarkable thing to have achieved.”

Previous finalists in the Best Fantasy Novel category include: Trudi Canavan, Jo Spurrier, Kate Forsyth, Jennifer Fallon, Sara Douglass, Sean Williams and Garth Nix.

2014 Master Plan

Thought I’d give you all a breakdown of what I expect to do this year, and unsurprisingly it looks like I’ll be busy! If all goes well I’ll have 3 (yes 3!) more books published.

Jan-Feb: Edit/revise/re-revise Blood of Innocents and finish the 1st draft of Emerald Eyes Rising (sci-fi).
March/April: Publish Blood of Innocents, work on the 1st draft of book 3, and edit/revise Emerald Eyes Rising.
June: Publish Emerald Eyes Rising. And from here on concentrate on book 3 of the Sorcery Ascendant Sequence.
November/December: Publish book 3 of the Sorcery Ascendant Sequence.

If someone had told me at the beginning of 2013 that by the end of 2014 I’d have 4 books published, I’d have laughed at them…

All this is possible because of the readers that bought A Crucible of Souls. So thank you! Again, awesome readers are awesome!

Blood of Innocents update

Blood of Innocents draft ms just sent for first round of content/structural editing. Phew! That was hard work the last few weeks, and especially the last few days. Time for a leisurely lunch before working on a synopsis and blurb…

It’ll take a while for the rounds of editing so my original timeline still stands, Blood of Innocents should be published in March 2013.
